When a parking lot is sealcoating, you will no longer be able to see the parking lines and markings that were previously there. So, it's typically more efficient to include sealcoating when your parking lot is due for line striping, if the asphalt is older.
Both paint & thermoplastic line striping are great, they both have their purposes. Paint line striping is perfect for parking spot lines and markings that don't need to be reflective or have a very heavy traffic load. Thermoplastic lasts about 10x longer, is reflective and is typically used in high traffic areas and areas that need visibility (crosswalks, stop bars, some public roadway markings, etc.)
The professional sealcoating material typically takes 24 hours to dry, but it's recommended to wait up to 72 hours before driving on it. This is why we are able to do large parking lots in sections, to give you the ability to keep your business functioning while we complete the project.
At C&C Super Seal, the paint we use is typically dry to the touch within two hours, but we recommend waiting a total of 4 hours before allowing cars to drive over the new striping.
